WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. Department of Justice released additional Jeffrey Epstein files. These files include uncorroborated accusations made by a woman against President Donald Trump.
According to the department, the documents mentioning the U.S. president had been mistakenly withheld during a previous review.
The agency stated last week that it was working to determine if any documents were improperly withheld. This came after several news organizations reported that the massive batch of files made public did not include some records.
These documents revealed a series of interviews conducted in 2019 with a woman who made an accusation against Trump.
Incorrectly Coded as Duplicates
The files were “incorrectly coded as duplicates,” which is why they were not released.
Consequently, they did not appear alongside other investigative documents related to the disgraced financier.
“As we have consistently done, if any member of the public reported concerns about information in the library, the Department would review, make necessary corrections, and republish online,” the department stated.
Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein.
