We limit data collection to what is necessary to operate the platform and improve our journalism. The following categories describe what we may gather:

• Account information. Name, email address, and language preference when you create a subscriber account.
• Usage data. Pages visited, time spent on articles, and general navigation patterns — collected in aggregate, not individually.
• Device information. Browser type, operating system, and screen resolution to ensure the site renders correctly.
• Payment data. Processed securely through third-party providers. NB NOW does not store credit card numbers or banking details.
• Communication records. Emails or messages you send to our editorial or support teams.

Data we collect serves operational and editorial purposes. We do not sell personal information to third parties, and we do not use it for behavioural advertising.

• Delivering content in your preferred official language (English or French).
• Processing subscriptions, donations, and related account management.
• Understanding aggregate readership patterns to inform editorial decisions — such as which regions or topics receive sustained attention.
• Sending transactional emails (e.g. subscription confirmations, password resets) and, with consent, editorial newsletters.
• Maintaining platform security and preventing abuse.

NB NOW uses a minimal set of cookies. We do not deploy third-party advertising trackers. Cookies fall into the following categories:

• Essential. Required for basic site functionality — authentication, language selection, and session management.
• Analytics. Privacy-respecting, aggregate-only analytics to measure page views and reading depth. No individual user profiles are created.
• Preference. Stores your display settings such as language and text size across sessions.

We share personal data only when necessary and only with the following parties:
